Photo Guidelines

A great personalized design starts with a great photo. These tips will help us get the best possible result.

Choose clear, sharp photos

Use the highest-resolution original photo you have. Avoid blurry images, screenshots, compressed social-media downloads, or photos taken from far away.

Good lighting helps

Choose photos where the face, person, or pet is well lit and easy to see. Natural light is ideal. Very dark photos can hide important details.

Keep important details visible

Avoid images where faces, hair, ears, clothing, or other important features are cut off by the edge of the photo or covered by another object.

Front-facing or three-quarter angles work best

For portraits, photos where the subject is looking toward the camera usually provide the strongest result. Side profiles can work, but the final design depends on the style.

Pets

For pet designs, choose a photo where your pet’s face and distinctive features are clearly visible. Photos taken at eye level often work especially well.

Backgrounds

The background does not need to be perfect. In many designs we focus on the subject and adjust the composition as needed.

One last check

Before ordering, make sure you uploaded the intended photos and that the files open clearly. The quality of the finished design depends heavily on the quality of the source images.
